My answer. In the passage about you will notice that it says of The Word that ‘The Word was God’ but it then goes on to say ‘The Word was with God’. Now this is impossible normally speaking. John is saying that the Word is God but that he is also with God. The Word is Jesus. In verse 14 it says - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. The Word is Jesus Christ. What John is saying is that Jesus Christ ‘is God’ and that he is ‘with God’. This can only be true if in the godhead there are more than one person. Actually there are three persons in the godhead yet there is only one God. Of course we humans cannot fully understand all this.

Jehovah Witnesses do not believe in the deity of Jesus Christ because they are taught by a religious system that deny this Bible truth. Anyone who starts to believe what the Bible really teaches is excommunication from the Jehovah Witnesses. The reason why Jehovah witnesses are not Christians is because Jesus said. 24: I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. All through Johns Gospel Jesus declares himself to be the ‘I AM’. I am is the name of God. It is the name that God used to name himself to Moses at the Burning bush. When Jesus was asked Are you The Son of God he said ‘I AM’. And they said we do not need further witness because he claims to be God.
Those who deny that Jesus is the I AM will never be saved.

The only thing that can keep a person out of heaven is a refusal to accept the salvation that Christ has provided on the cross. If people refuse to believe in what Christ has done for them then there is no hope for them.

Often ‘the Church’ misunderstands or even contradicts the Bible. This is because not all people who go to church are christians. And in some churches the people in charge are not christians and do not believe the Bible.
